What do Physical Therapy Services look like at DYPT?
Physical Therapy Evaluation
(75-90 Minutes)

A personalized, hands-on assessment and consultation tailored to your unique needs or diagnosis. Our expert physical therapist, with over 25 years of experience, specializes in evaluating and treating a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to joint pain, dysfunction, weakness, post-surgical recovery, chronic pain, headaches, dizziness, and balance issues. An initial evaluation is required before beginning treatment; however, treatment is integrated into every evaluation session. Payment is required prior to treatment, and sessions may be eligible for reimbursement.
Physical Therapy Session
(60 Minutes)

This one-on-one session provides individualized treatment, counseling, education, and instruction based on your diagnosis and personal goals. Our holistic approach considers the body as an interconnected system rather than relying on standard protocols. All treatments are performed by the same experienced therapist who conducted your evaluation. Sessions may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises (including yoga), soft tissue manipulation, neuromuscular re-education, and other therapeutic activities.

If you're experiencing increasing aches and pains or have a family history that concerns you, this service can help you address potential issues before they worsen. For those dealing with chronic pain, headaches, or sleep disturbances, we can work with you to uncover potential causes. And if you're simply looking to prioritize your health as you age, a “check-up” can highlight what areas need attention.
Physical therapists are uniquely equipped to screen for wellness, promote healthy living, and reduce the risk of disease and disability. We can determine if you need physical therapy, recommend exercises tailored to your needs, or refer you to the appropriate specialist.

Direct Access to Physical Therapy in North Carolina

In North Carolina, you can see a physical therapist without needing a physician’s referral. This direct access allows for faster treatment, less time off work or from recreational activities, quicker recovery, reduced pain, and more flexible scheduling—all while potentially saving you money.

Our Fee-for-Service Model

We operate as a fee-at-time-of-service clinic, providing one-on-one, hands-on, specialized physical therapy for a full hour each session, without the use of rehab aides or assistants. In our experience, this personalized care yields the best results for our clients. To offer this level of dedicated time with a licensed physical therapist, we function as an out-of-network provider. However, you can pay with a health savings or flexible spending account card.

How Reimbursement Works

Your reimbursement will depend on your insurance plan’s out-of-network coverage for outpatient physical therapy. For example, if your coverage is 80/20, after meeting your out-of-network deductible, you may be reimbursed for 80% of the fees your insurance considers reasonable and customary.

As a courtesy, we provide detailed receipts with all necessary diagnosis and treatment billing codes, and in some cases, we can assist with claim forms. Filing claims is entirely up to you; many clients choose not to, but some do. Ultimately, our clients often save both time and money by avoiding the traditional route of visiting a physician for a referral to a physical therapy clinic. With direct access to our services, patients typically recover faster and require fewer visits.
